Information You Submit
Search entries
A name or location entered in a search box goes to the third-party company that operates that tool. Harlan County Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, it is kept as needed to answer. Message contents are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may record technical details when a page loads:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring page, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or delete them, though parts of the site may then work differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected data may be used to keep pages available and responsive, send a search to the selected partner, understand which material is useful, diagnose errors, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Links and Outside Services
Links lead to jail rosters, court and corrections portals, sheriff pages, official locators, news outlets, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy terms control. Advertising partners may also measure activity across sites on their own systems to select ads.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited data may reach search partners that process queries, analytics providers, advertising networks, or a law-enforcement or government body acting under a valid legal order.
Security Measures
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website, network, or storage system can be promised breach-proof. Transmission over the internet always carries some risk.
Adults Only
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may use the contact route to request deletion if a minor submitted personal data.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held, request a correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Requests can be sent through Get in Touch. Kentucky public records remain controlled by their government custodians under the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised. A new version takes effect when posted with its updated effective date.
